The Junior Center of Art and Science, a non-profit organization located on Lake Merritt in Oakland, has trained young artists for over 60 years. The artworks in this exhibition are pulled from the Center’s extensive archive housed at Mill’s College. It presents a taste of the rich and creative output of the Center’s students over the years. Skillful and imaginative, the exhibited artworks celebrate the range of talent the Center fosters, and it’s robust and diverse programing.

Dedicated to all the children of the East Bay, The Junior Center of Art and Science encourages children’s active wonder and creative responses through artistic and scientific exploration of their natural environment. The Junior Center’s classes, workshops, exhibits, and events, integrate art and science to promote children’s fresh, hands-on and personalized interaction with their natural world. The Junior Center contributes to the development of citizens who value nature and appreciate the importance of art and science in our community.

21ST ANNUAL KAISER PERMANENTE NORTHERN CALIFORNIA INTERNATIONAL DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL

Saturday & Sunday, September 17 & 18, 2016

The Junior Center of Art and Science will offer hands-on art activities at the 2016 Northern California International Dragon Festival. September 17-18, 2016.
