Join Vince, our resident musician, maker and teaching artist in this fun and groovy music class! Tap to the beat of rhythms from Puerto Rico, Cuba and Brazil as you explore music making in a whole new way. We’ll make percussion instruments from craft materials and experiment with sound and music composition, all while learning about Afro-Latin cultures and their music from around the world.

Have you ever wondered how video games are created? Using the coding platform Scratch, we’ll explore the worlds of coding, video game design, animation, and storytelling. Together, we’ll learn how to think like software engineers and game designers while coding a variety of programs, turning your ideas into animated games and stories

Students will learn to use a complement of hand tools during a course that emphasizes safe tool use, practical problem solving and creative development. Projects increase in difficulty as experience grows. Woodworking students will begin with projects such as a small toy boat and work up to full-sized furniture and professional skateboards. All first-time carpentry students MUST attend the first day of class to safely participate in the course.

2D and 3D Exploration Student artists will paint, design, sculpt, and build original artwork using a variety of traditional and unconventional techniques and materials. In this fun hands-on class students will gain basic art skills and be introduced to ceramics, mixed media, kinetic sculpture, assemblage, and more!

Activities focus on artistic skill building and creative thinking through individual and collaborative art projects. This class is especially designed for early artists between ages 5-7 who want to explore a range of ideas and mediums.
